Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico December 24, 1971. His first performances were school productions in which he participated. He also sang in the choir school. As a small child, he has appeared in many commercials, and (with the support of parents), immersed in the teaching of singing. His musical tastes are not inclined to Latin American music, as many thought. He was more interested by such musicians as David Bowie, "Boston" and "Cheap Trick". However, once his mother took him to a concert Silii Cruz, who left a strong impression. 
   
At age 10, Ricky heard Latin music group of boys "Menudo", and immediately went to listen. First, it is not accepted due to a small age, but then, in 1984 he finally took place in the group, and during the next five years, he worked in the exhaust mode recordings and concert tours. In 1989, when "Menudo" was the height of its popularity, Martin left the group and moved to New York where he hopes to achieve solo success. There he experienced a year of unemployment, then, distracted, he returned to Mexico. 
   
In moments of life south of the border, the welfare of Martin went back to the amendment, he became a regular in the soap opera "alcanzar una Estrella II", the division of time between images and music. Released in 1992 and 1993, its first Spanish-language albums rather enjoyed great popularity in several countries. The new album "Vuelve" was released in early 1998 and sold very well. 
   
In 1998, Martin received a Grammy Award, his last album was named "Best album of Latin popular music." The new album, released him on May 11, was named just "Ricky Martin" was a great success. It rejected a proposal to join Jennifer Lopez in the movie "West Side Story" on the grounds that the film perpetuates the stereotypes of Puerto Rico.
